The International Mary of Nazareth Center (CIMDN) in Nazareth is a new project of the MDN Association, due to open in December 2010. Ecumenical in its approach, the aim is to show Mary in the Christian, Jewish and Muslim world by means of contemporary audio-visual techniques. A one-hour visit can include the terraced biblical gardens and chapel on the roof, with wonderful views over Nazareth. There will also be a café and gift shop.
Excavations carried out in 2009 near the entrance to the Center revealed an exciting findt—he first Jesus-era house in Nazareth. The Israel Antiquities Authority has confirmed the existence of a simple dwelling from the 1st century. Visitors will be able to view the ruins as they enter the Center.
Opening hours and entry fee to be determined.
Visitors are welcome at the Center prior to opening. Enter from Old City ‘Exit' door.
