Our Lady of Guadalupe, near Mexico City, is the patron saint of Mexico. All the dioceses in the country take turns during the year, to celebrate a festival in her Basilica on the 12th of each month as well as the other key solemnities of the Virgin Mary.
The main celebrations of Our Lady of Guadalupe are on October 12, when her coronation is solemnly commemorated, and on December 12, the anniversary of her apparitions. The rush of pilgrims from around the world is enormous: 14 million per year!
