Mary’s birth

The Holy Scripture says nothing about Mary’s birth. What we do know is known either through the authentic Tradition of the Church or by the apocryphal books.

Yet, as the Church Fathers, the saints and the mystics tell us when evoking Marian theology, Mary’s birth was an occasion of immeasurable rejoicing in the Holy Trinity and the myriad angelic hosts in heaven. Indeed, with the birth of Mary, the whole Creation, seen and unseen, reached the hour announced by the prophets—that of “the fulfillment of time,” that which would see the Messiah being born of a virgin descendant of the chosen people…
