Colombia

In August 1988, Our Lady of Chiquinquira was proclaimed patron saint of Colombia. In 1986, Pope John Paul II and a crowd of pilgrims made a votive Consecration of Colombia in the Shrine of Our Lady of Chiquinquira.

Our Lady of "Las Lajas" is a national shrine. Its image, painted on a stone, has an astonishing origin.

Marilandia, a more recent shrine, founded in 1990 by an individual following private revelations. Its outreach was rapidly intense and a source of priestly and religious vocations.

Our Lady of Guasa is the biggest shrine in Colombia, and the only one in the world to be 400 meters below sea-level. It is known as "the salt cathedral of Zipaquira" and is both a natural and a spiritual wonder.
