Paraguay

Paraguay is the land of the Guarani peoples, where the Jesuits founded the "Republic of Saints" in the 17th century, a sort of theocratic and communitarian state, admired by many writers including atheist writers.

The national shrine of Caacupè was visited by Saint John Paul II in 1988.

It is worth noting that the name of many cities evoke the mysteries of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the Incarnation and the Assumption.
