Medjugorje Speaks to the Youth

Medjugorje Speaks to the Youth

To seek God right from one's youth is something precious. The prayer of children is an important action for the world. Medjugorje gives these all-times truths a special emphasis for today's world:

The Mass is important for the youth!

Prayer opens the youth to the Holy Spirit (to his charisma and motions)!

Pay attention, young people, the Gospa warns you that Satan is active.

Let the youth be an example through their life, let them be witnesses!

And the Gospa "thanks most especially" to the youth!

Let the youth of this parish be active in heir prayer

Let us begin by looking at the tradition of the Church, before presenting a few messages from Medjugorje:

"When I was young and innocent, I sought wisdom. She came to me in her beauty, and until the end I will cultivate her. As the blossoms yielded to ripening grapes, the heart's joy, My feet kept to the level path because from earliest youth I was familiar with her."

(Sirach 51:13-15)

"What an immense power the prayer of children has! It becomes a model for the adults themselves: to pray with a simple and total trust means to pray like children know how to pray... The Pope counts a lot on your prayers. We must pray together, pray a lot, so that humanity, made of billions of human beings, may become more and more the family of God and may live in peace."

(John Paul II, Letter to children)

"The children who pray are those who save the world."

(St Faustina, Little Journal)

The youth hold a great place in the Gospa's prayer. At the beginning of the apparitions, she cried, saying that the youth are in a very difficult situation. On many occasions, she begged for people to especially pray for them.

The Gospa helped and taught the teens in Jelena's prayer group between February 1982 and July 1987 through locutions and inner visions received by Jelena and Marijana Vasilj.

Here are a few messages for the world:

"Dear children! Today I call you to renew prayer in your families. Dear children, encourage the very young to prayer and the children to go to Holy Mass. Thank you for having responded to my call." (Medjugorje 07/26/84 full message)

"Dear children! Pray, pray!" Marija said that She also invited the people, and especially the young people, to keep order during the Mass." (Medjugorje 08/23/84 excerpt)

"Dear children; today I call you to renew prayer in your families. Dear children, encourage the very young to prayer and the children to go to Holy Mass. Thank you for having responded to my call." (Medjugorje 03/07/85 full message)

Be open to the Holy Spirit

"It will come to pass in the last days," God says, "that I will pour out a portion of my spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams."

(Acts 2:17)

"Pray and learn to pray! Open your hearts and your consciences to the one who knows you better than you know yourselves. Talk to him! Deepen your knowledge of the word of the Living God by reading and meditating on the Scriptures. These are the methods and means for coming close to God and making contact with him. Remember that it is a question of a two- way relationship. God responds also with the most "free gift of self," a gift which in biblical language is called "grace." Strive to live in the grace of God!"

(Pope John Paul II's Apostolic Letter « Dilecti Amici »

issued to the youth of the world on the occasion of international youth year, §14, 1985)

I speak in a special way to you young people: defend your inner freedom!

(John Paul II's Homily for the canonization of Blessed Kinga, June 16, 1999, § 5)

"Dear children, I am calling you to a more active prayer and attendance at Holy Mass. I wish your Mass to be an experience of God. I wish especially to say to the young people: be open to the Holy Spirit because God wishes to draw you to himself in these days when Satan is at work. Thank you for having responded to my call." (Medjugorje 05/16/85)
