The purpose of the Marie de Nazareth Association is to invite people to love Mary who leads us all to Jesus. Composed of a team of volunteers and paid employees, it seeks to introduce the general public to the awe-inspiring mystery of the Mother of God.
The Virgin of Guadalupe, "Star of the New Evangelization" in the words of John Paul II, attracts 20 million pilgrims every year. On Plaza Mariana, a few dozen meters from the basilica, a Marian Evangelization Center is being built to accommodate these pilgrims.
Between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, in the largest Catholic country in the world, lies Aparecida, where, in 1717, fishermen found a statue of the Virgin in their nets. This shrine is the site of the South American bishops' conference and, since September 2012, a Marian Evangelization Center project is underway.
