The healings of Lourdes encompass the whole person: the spirit, the psyche, and at times the body.
Today, when investigating an inexplicable cure, the Medical Office of Lourdes looks at the two facets of the same reality: the abnormal fact and the sign, which leads to a two-part investigation, one of a medical order, the other of a spiritual order.
Miracles are possible because God is present in his Creation - it is the dogma of creation, which is also an "ongoing" creation, a "providence" (CCC 301-308).
